Recently, I had the opportunity to write for the Patheos.com blog – Rational Doubt. You can read my first submission here: Only Human.
When it comes to writing, I always need some form of an inspirational catalyst, and deadlines are never that. Instead, I need something that I can feel and vibe with. This time it was RaRag’n’Bone Man‘s song Human. At the 2017 Brit Awards, he was named British Breakthrough Act and received the Critics’ Choice Award. As I typed my first submission for Patheos, I cranked the volume up! After all, great songs deserve to be played at volume 11.
His soulful sound and lyrics gave voice and grit to what I was feeling inside:
Maybe I’m foolish, maybe I’m blind, thinking I can see through this, and see what’s behind. Got no way to prove it, so maybe I’m blind, but I’m only human after all… Don’t put your blame on me…
In my article Only Human, I wrote in brief how I recently navigated a major transition in my life. I find the most authentic and honest thing I can do as a writer, is to make myself vulnerable by sharing from my personal experiences. Opinion pieces have value, but heart-to-heart sharing is golden.
As it concerns my recent blog post on Rational Doubt, there is much more to share. So, be watching; I’m currently working on a follow-up article. The best way to stay-in-the-know is to follow me on this blog and on Twitter.
